He was married Nov. 1, 1947 in Pocahontas, AR, to Joyce Cotham.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during World War II.
He was a retired truck driver, driving for Pierceton Trucking Company in Laketon, IN. He later established Risner Trucking and was owner and operator for over 20 years and was known by his trucker friends as "Coffeeman."
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Risner of the home in Mammoth Spring, AR; three children, James Risner and wife, Laverne of Mammoth Spring, AR; Hazel Pendarvis of Dothan, AL; and Deniece Pierce and husband, Steve of Mammoth Spring, AR; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one unborn great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Lucille Ridgeway of St. Charles, MO; Martha Cox and husband, Joe of Mammoth Spring, AR; Marolyn Ragsdale and husband, Wendell of Mammoth Spring, AR; and Carolyn Smith and husband, James of Mammoth Spring, AR; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Risner; one grandson, Bradley Risner; and one brother-in-law, Gordon Ridgeway.
Funeral services were April 21 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, in Thayer with Larry Combs officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery at Thayer, MO, with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
