Mrs. Caroline Michaels.
Died, at midnight, April 11-12, 1911, Mrs. Caroline Johana Marie Michaels, aged 81 years and 29 days.
Mrs. Michaels, whose maiden name was Koch, was born in Prussia, Germany, March 12, 1830. She was married to Ernest Michaels in 1849. Nine children, six daughters and three sons, were born to them in Germany and one son. Frederick, was born here. They came to America in 1869, coming direct to this county where they have since resided and where their sons and daughters have attained success and enviable reputations for honor and intergretiy. Father Michaels died in 1888, Mother Michaels had a sweet motherly face that was an introduction to the hearts of all with whom she came in contact. It was always full of peace and rest to all who met her. Eight children survive her, a son and daughter having preceded her. There are thrity-nine grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren.
The funeral occurred at Salem Lutheran chruch in Sherman on Saturday, April 15, and was conducted by her beloved pastor, Rev. C. W. Schoenow.
