He was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Pearsall. He married Rosalia Estella Gallegos on March 28, 1980, in Lubbock. He moved to Lubbock from San Angelo.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg of Lubbock; a daughter, Corina Vargas of San Antonio; four brothers, Lorenzo of San Antonio and Jimmy, Adam and Santos, all of Lubbock; two sisters, Rosa Vasquez of Lubbock and Pepa Esquivel of Bandera; and three grandchildren.
