Born March 21, 1952, the son of Laurel and Mary Lou (Shields) Crick, he married Nina Mortimeyer in 1984, in Canton. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Steven R. Crick of Rockford; stepchildren, Cheri (Heath) Mason of Rockford, Scott (Martina) Melvin of Danvers, and Holli (Sheldon) Tank of Rockford; nine grandchildren; his mother, Mary Lou Crick; one sister, Luann (Michael) Baldock; three nieces; and one nephew.
Steven was a financial aid director for Illinois Valley Community College. He was an avid Cubs fan and a collector of baseball cards. He previously coached tennis and baseball, and was currently the IVCC Women's Basketball coach.
