Margaret Lee Campbell Burnette, 64, of Madison Heights, died Jan. 1 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Preston Wayne Burnette Sr.

Born Sept. 27, 1944, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late James Homer and Alice Beard Campbell. Mrs. Burnette was a retired senior vice president with BB&T.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Burnette is survived by her son, Wayne Burnette, of Madison Heights; two brothers, Jimmy Campbell and wife, Barbara, of Campbell County and Norman Campbell and wife, Mary Jane, of Madison Heights; and two sisters, Barbara Rudy and husband, Bill, of Emory and Debbie Thompson and husband, Gerald, of Allwood.

A graveside service was conducted Jan. 4 in El Bethel Cemetery, Allwood, by the Rev. Kenneth Payne.
