A retired aerospace engineer with Sverdrup at AEDC and a member of the Church of Christ, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. The son of Oscar Earl and Willie Everett Hurtt Turner, he is survived by his wife, Sue Turner; sons, Joel E. Turner of Montgomery, Ala., John A. Turner of Manchester and Nathan E. Turner of Knoxville; daughter, Abigail Turner of Franklin; grandchildren, Amy N. Turner, Adam E. Turner, Casey L. Turner, Megan Ann Turner, Lauren N. Turner and William Everett Eason; brothers, Isaac, James F. William Edward (Bill), Franklin and Marion Turner, all of Morrison; and sisters, Clata Groves of Rock Island and Dorothy Pierce of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Morrison Church of Christ with Lynwood Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Bascom Cemetery.
