Wanda Jeanne Adams, 81, Yates Center, Kansas, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
She was born May 30, 1927, in Iola, Kansas, to Merida Floyd Zilliox and Bernice Marie (Geer) Zilliox-Goodner.
She attended school in the Maple Grove and Carlyle Communities and graduated from Iola High School.
She married Donnel Adams on June 6, 1942, at Judge Dunlap's home in Iola, Kansas. He survives.
She was a homemaker and helped on her husband's farm south of Yates Center.
She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a 4-H leader and a member of the Cow-Belles, Woodson County Cattlewomen.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Donnel Jr. and Karen Adams, Yates Center, KS; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Janice and George Vanatta, Odessa, MO, Diana Dixon, Yates Center, KS, Cathy and Perry Nolan, Hutchison, KS, and DeLana and Kurt Jeffery, Yates Center, KS; a brother, Leon Marrow, Iola, KS; 22 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gordon Dixon; a great-granddaughter, Casandra Chadwick; five half-brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral will be at First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Yates Center Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center, Kansas.
