Eckhold, age 90, was born to pioneer parents, Leamon D. and Melissa Farnes Bronson in Sterling, ID. She passed away 7/13/2005 with Joyce, her daughter, by her side. Viola married Merle Hunt in 1932 and later divorced. They had one daughter. Viola worked for Dr. Mercer Anderson where she met her eternal companion, Anthony I. Eckhold. They married in 1948. He died in 1953. Viola was very active in the LDS Church and had many callings. She had good health and cared for herself until May, 2005. She endured well her many challenges with a cheerful heart. She had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed being part of Halloween parties. She loved everyone, especially children. Over the years she cared for most of her entire family, and all have stories of how she saved their lives.
She is preceded in death by her husband, and seven siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hunt Brown, sister Fern McDermott, three grandchildren, 13 great-grand-children, 12 great-great-grand-children, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thurs., July 21st, at 4:00 p.m. at Riverview Ward, 1325 W. 5550 S., Taylorsville, UT. with a viewing there Wed., July 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will be in Springfield, ID. cemetery on Friday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Directors: Serenicare.
