Eliza Ann Percival was the daughter of Doctor John Stearns Percival and his second wife, Sarah Ann Kirtley. She was born in 1823, probably in Boone County, Kentucky. She married Joseph H. Oliver, June 11, 1844 in Burlington, Boone county, Kentucky. He died in 1868 and she then married Elijah Ashcraft Shacklette. After his death in 1875, she went to live with Madeline "Meddy" Foster Parr and her family in Louisville.
Eliza had no children of her own and it appears that she raised Meddy and her brothers.
Eliza's siblings were a half brother Egbert D. Percival, who was a son of Dr. John Percival and his first wife, Matilda Goodridge; John Stearns Percival, Jr.; Jabez Percival; and William Percival. Egbert died in Placer county, California in 1870, John died during the battle of Little Rock in 1853, Jabez died in Los Angeles, California in 1896. No record of William has ever been found.
