He is survived by his wife, four sons, Peter A. and Martin Nellis Fonda of Brooklyn, James Lansing Fonda of East Orange, N.J., and Stephen Jr., of Cortland, and five daughters, Mrs. John Van Slyke of Palatine Bridge, Mrs. Charles Arndt and Miss Rachel Fonda of Fort Plain, Mrs. William Bennett of Frankfort and Mrs. Thomas Nagle of Fort Plain. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Catharine Nellis Memorial chapel, the Rev. Thomas Kirkwood, pastor of the local Reformed church officiating.
