MRS. BALLEW, 74, DIES AT HOME
Mrs. Mary Center Ballew, 74, of 3 Old Bleachery Road, died at her home at 10:10 p.m. yesterday.
Mrs. Ballew, born in upper Greenville County, was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
She is the wife of the late Stafford Ballew.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rommetta Henderson of Greenville; a brother, Hardy Center of Greenville; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Center Ballew, 74, widow of Stafford Ballew, will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Park Place Baptist Church by Dr. John R. Wells and the Rev. William Gilbert Jr. Burial will be in Camp Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Blease Waldrop, Bill Mashburn, Bud Shelton, Ray Hale, Belt Wiggins and Bill Finley.
Honorary escort will be members of the Men's Bible Class of Park Place Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ballew died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rometta Henderson, 3 Old Bleachery Road. She lived with her daughter and had been a resident of Greenville for many years. She was a native of Greenville County and a daughter of the late Jackson Center and Nancy Ellen Dobbins Center.
Mrs. Ballew was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, a sister, Mrs. Mattie Fowler and a brother, Hardy Center, both of Greenville; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body is at the home.
