Jay Atkinson, 58, died on Tuesday, March 6, 1990 at his home of cancer.


He was born May 22, 1931 in Woods Cross, a son of Lawrence G. and Elsie Everett Atkinson.


He married Charlene Pitts on January 30, 1951 in Elko, Nevada.


He was reared in Woods Cross and attended the Davis County Schools. He had lived in Franklin, Idaho, Provo and in Ogden since 1963. He was a member of the Wilson First LDS Ward. He was the owner and operator of the City Waste Paper.


Surviving are wife, Ogden; 12 sons, five daughters, Guy Atkinson, Ted Atkinson, both Ogden; Mark Atkinson, Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Robert Atkinson, Woods Cross; David Atkinson, Ogden; Scott Atkinson and Joe Atkinson, both Roy; Keith Atkinson, West Bountiful; Blair Atkinson, Roy; Wade Atkinson, Douglas Atkinson, and Richard Atkinson, all Ogden; Faye Erwin, Lompoc, California; Dee Ann Nielson, Magna; Susan Kondrick and Linda Prickett, both of Roy; Karen Brown, Ogden; 35 grandchildren; also two brothers, seven sisters, Carl C. Atkinson, Caldwell, Idaho; Larry Atkinson, Las Vegas, Nevada; Lucille Potter, Murray; Ruth McQuire, Ruby Pratt, Marjorie Mason, Mary Powell and Dawn Finley, all of Salt Lake City; Edna Vaudry, St. George; preceded in death by four brothers and his parents.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Boulevard, where freinds may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Ogden City Cemetery.
