B.D. Alton Passes Away
Well Known Pewaukee Man Dies after a Year's Illness
Pewaukee, Wis., Sept. 15-B.D. Alton died at his home here Sunday morning after an illness of more than a year. Although his friends had been much concerned about his health, his death came unexpectedly and as a shock to the community. Mr. Alton was born Dec. 22, 1867, and had lived here practically all his life. He married Miss May Wildish of this village in 1894, and she survives him, together with a son and a daughter, Fred, aged twelve years, and little Carol who is but nine months old. Deceased leaves also his parents. Mr.
and Mrs. A.G. Alton; a brother, George, who was in a business partnership with him; and two sisters, Mrs. William Rhodes of Appleton and Miss Lucy Alton, Mr. Alton was a successful business man, a good citizen, and possessed of personal qualities which endeared him to all who knew him well and which, made for him many loyal and devoted friends. Business houses in the village were closed Tuesday afternoon during the hours of the funeral service, which were conducted at the house by Rev. J.H. Cameron and at the grave by the Masons, the latter service being led by Mr. Kannell, Master of Kilbourn lodge.
