He was born July 30, 1942, in Shawnee to Roy and Thelma Mae (Harmon) Adams. He was a 1959 graduate of Harjo School. Mr. Adams lived and worked most of his life in the Seminole and Tecumseh areas.
On Oct. 23, 1976, he married Harriet Adkisson in Marthasville, La. He worked for Southwestern Bell as a Service Technician for 39 years before retiring in 1995. He loved the lake, especially his place at Texoma Lake. He loved his dog, Missy, and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed the times spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lovern DeLoach. Survivors include his wife Harriet Adams of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Belinda Adams of Seminole and Richard and Angie Adams of Macomb; daughters and son-in-law, Jamie and Travis Gates of Shawnee and Laura Jean McAfee and sons of Arkansas; grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Lindsay Adams, Brandon Adams, Brittny Adams, Blake Adams, Beau Guinn, Megan and Josh Williams, Dax Gates and Bree Gates; one great-grandchild expected, Ryder Scott Adams; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Larry Whisenhunt of Shawnee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Doyle Ivester; longtime special friends, Delbert and Barbara Aldridge; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and other relatives.
Viewing will begin 11 am Tuesday. The casket will remain open until service time and will not be reopened following the service. Service will be 10 am Wednesday, April 22, at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
