Carrie Samples Baskett, 96, died Sunday, May 4th at the Masonic Homes of Kentucky in Shelbyville. She was a native of Shelby County and a production worker for American Air Filter. She was a member of the Shelbyville First Baptist Church where she had a been a member of the Young-at-Heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R. L. Samples and Addie Lou Riddle Samples; and her husband, Carl Baskett. She is survived by her son, Robert "Bobby" Carl Basket of Louisville; her sisters, Ann Elizabeth Samples Morrow of Morehead, Lucille Nichols of Shelbyville, Dorothy of Coffman of Shelbyville, Violett Rice of Shelbyville; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Baskett of Shelbyville, Christopher Baskett of Jeffersonville, IN, and Cheryl Baskett of Jeffersonville, IN; and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Shannon Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
