Beaumont Enterprise - Services for James R. "Jim" Adams, Sr. 86, of Jasper will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Holly Springs. Visitation will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church, Tues. Oct. 18, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Adams died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at St. Francis Cabrina in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was a native and lifelong resident of Holly Springs. He retired as a grocery salesman with the Phelan Company. He was a member of the DeWitt Clinton Masonic Lodge #29 AF & AM. He enjoyed farming. He loved his family and the members of the Holly Springs Community where he was the unofficial "Mayor". Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Medelle Adams of Holly Springs; son, James Robert Adams, Jr. of Pineville, Louisiana, and daughter, Judy and husband, Tommy Clark of Jasper; sister Myrtle Ann Powell of Holly Springs, Texas; four grandchildren, Lisa Perkins, Melissa Castillo, Stephanie Todd and Stacy Wilson; eight great grandchildren, Bruce Perkins, Camille Perkins, Hope Todd, Mikel Wilson, Nathan Castillo, Dustin Todd, Madison Castillo and Garrett Castillo. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, 50 Court Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201-4801. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
