Major League Baseball Player. Born in Belleville, Kansas, he was a right handed pitcher making his debut with the Chicago Cubs on September 9, 1911. For nine seasons, he played with the Chicago Cubs (1911-15), Brooklyn Robins (1916-1918), plus the Boston Braves and Philadelphia Phillies in 1919. A noted knuckle and spitter ball hauler, he lead the National League in wins in 1912 with 26. He ended his career with a record of 116 wins, 100 loss, 926 strikeouts and a 2.70 earned run average. He died at age 82 in Dayton Beach, Florida.
