WISNER — Funeral services for Geter Brooks Chappell, 75, of Wisner will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home with the Revs. Lamar Dixon and David Oliver officiating.


Burial will be in the Crowville Masonic Cemetery in Crowville.


Mr. Chappell died Wednesday at the Franklin Parish Hospital in Winnsboro after a brief illness.


He was a member of the Wisner Assembly of God Church and a retired farmer.


Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maudie Chappell of Wisner; two sons, Howard Chappell of Wisner and Paul Chappell of Sturgis, Miss.; two daughters, Mrs. J. O. Richardson Jr. of Crowville and Mrs. C. D. Martin of Monroe; one brother, Dennis Chappell of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Zelma Cashman of Monroe; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.


Pallbearers will be Emmett Johnson, Donald Ellerbe, George McDaniel, Frank Albritton, Billy J. James and Ed McDaniel.
