WORLD WAR II VETERAN

Henry Lawrence Abbott was born on 1 November 1914 in Washington State. He is the son of James Vincent and Martha Irene (Ting) Abbott. Henry's father James is self reported as being of half Skaget Indian Blood, while his mother being of three forths Alaskan Indian blood.

On 19 January 1917 Henry's father, James, submitted a "WA, Enrollment and Allotment Application of Washington indians" to have him, his wife and children listed in the Indian rolls.

In the "US Indian census rolls of the Lummi Indian of Tulalup" James and his family are listed in the census from 1922 thru 1934.

On 21 November 1942 Henry was inducted into the United States Navy, for service during World War II. He served until 7 June 1946, when he was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class.

On 31 March 1982, at the age of sixty seven Henry passed away. He is buried in the Washington Veterans Home Cemetery.
