Don Lyman Bond died on April 16, 2009 at age 81 after a long battle with illness. His loving wife was at his side as he was finally able to slip away.

Don was born in Milford, Utah on June 1, 1928 to William and Eliza Bond. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lyman.

Don lived in Holladay, UT for the past 54 years with his wife, Kathleen who he adored. He was a loving patriarch who treasured his family above all else. The great-grandkids cherished him and always brought a smile to his face no matter how much he was suffering.

Don proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier, USS Kearsarge. After the war, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Arial Photography Department for over 30 years.

He actually developed some of the first shots of the earth from space. He continued his love of photography and freelanced for several years after retirement. Don was well loved in his community and was always willing to extend a hand when needed. He helped out in his ward, with boy scouts, little leagues and even horse clubs.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kathy), four children: Susan Huff (Monte) of Sandy, UT; Michael Bond (Nancy) of Lakepoint, UT; Stuart Bond of Walnut Creek, CA; and Peggy Heath (Gary) of Brighton, CO; six grandchildren: Stephanie Melton, Cody Davidson, Justin Davidson, Christopher Huff, Alysha Zimmerman and Chauncy Bond and five very loved and loving great-grandchildren.
