Nelda Carol Allen passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home in Trinity, Texas on December 29, 2021. She was born February 20, 1938 in Houston, Texas to Edward and Pearl (Ward) Norris.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, J.D. Allen; daughter Mary Ann Allen Murphy; parents Edward and Pearl Norris, and brother David Norris.
Left with memories are her son, John Wesley Allen and wife Trisha; grandchildren Scott Murphy and wife Mandy, John Allen and wife Gloria, Kaitlyn Allen, and Keri Murphy; great-grandchild Owen Wade Allen; sister Helen Marks and husband Paul; son-in-law Don Murphy, niece Paula Levron and husband Teddy, nephew Karl Mark and numerous other family members and friends.
Nelda enjoyed putting together puzzles in her spare time and often gave them to her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and watching television shows such as Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, John Wayne movies, and Gone with the Wind. She was a faithful member of Trinity Pines Baptist Church and served as secretary for many years. She also served as secretary and treasurer of the Chita Cemetery Association. She loved the Lord and read her bible daily, she often spoke of God's word to others.
Nelda worked for Harris County for 20 years and retired in 1995. During her employment with Harris County she worked for 2 JP Judges; Judge Shelly P. Hancock and Judge H.N. McElroy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday January 4, 2022 from 10 A.M. till 11 A.M. at Trinity Pines Baptist Church. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11 A.M. Interment will be at the Chita Cemetery.
