MRS. J. J. HUNT
Lucia A., wife of the late James J. Hunt, died shortly before six o'clock on Thursday, June 11th, at her late residence in Van Buren Ave., after an illness of about five months.
Lucia A. Davis was born at Redwood, New York State on August 8, 1847. The early years of her life were passed in the East. She became a resident of Naperville in 1871. In 1874 deceased was united in marriage to James J. Hunt, to whose motherless children she became a true mother. She was confirmed in the St. John's Episcopal church of Naperville and has been a consistent and loyal communicant to the church.
James J. Hunt was born in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, on August 19, 1821. He died in Naperville on Tuesday, February 7, 1905.
Bereaved of three children and one sister, and left a widow by the death of Mr. Hunt, Mrs. Hunt spent the closing years of her life in the home here with her step-daughter, Eva Ellsworth, the two sons, James Everett and Charles Clark being residents of the state of Oregon.
The funeral took place Saturday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Alfred E. Randell of the Congregational church, one of the friends much thought of by the deceased, preaching a short sermon at her late home and at the Naperville cemetery where interment took place. Numerous floral pieces were sent by many of her former friends, and words of condolence sent the bereaved relatives.
