Daniel "Danny" Albert Middleton, 60, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 14, 1997, at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville.
A lifelong resident of Pomona Park, he had attended schools in south Putnam County and graduated from Crescent City High School in 1955. After graduating he entered into the Army and served for two years earning the Good Conduct Medal. Soon he met and married his wife, Carroll, on December 5, 1959. He began working at Central States Diversified in Palatka. By working night shifts and attending Daytona Community College during the day he obtained his Master Machinist Degree. He attended the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona Park. A member of the Cattleman's Association of Putnam County. He was a volunteer with the Young Riders of the 4-H Club of Pomona Park. He was also a member of the Broward Grant Hunting Club in Pomona Park. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending horse shows.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carroll R. Middleton of Pomona Park; sons, Larry Middleton of Pomona Park, Wesley Middleton of Aviano, Italy; daughter, Leslie Vinson of Pomona Park; brothers, Downing Middleton of Danbury, Conn., Clester Middleton, Cokey Middleton, Easy Middleton, Alonzo Middleton, all of Pomona Park, Albert Spencer Middleton of Leesburg; sister, Martha Newton of Pomona Park; four grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona Park with Rev. Robert Fullerton officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Cemetery in Crescent City.
