Elmer Kenneth Kahle, formerly of Crete, died February 1, 1991 at the California Veterans Home Hospital in Yountville, California and was buried at the National Cemetery in San Bruno, California.

Elmer was born February 13, 1921 in Crete to Louis and Elfrieda Eicke Kahle. He was educated in the Crete area, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a gunner's mate. After the wars, he lived in the San Francisco Bay area working at truck driving; Pacific Gas and Electric Company; and service station attendant until he retired in 1969. He then lived at the Laguna Honda Home in San Francisco until 1974, the VA Domiciliary in White City, Oregon until 1984, and then the California Veterans Home until his death. He married Phyllis M. Mitchell on August 22, 1945, who presently lives in Nampa, Idaho. He then married Blanche E. Noyes in 1955, and she lives in Hayward, California.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Kahle of Nampa, Idaho; six grandchildren, Stacey Kahle of West Simsbury, Connecticut; Kevin, Jeremy, Kerry, Tina, and Shauna Kahle, all of Nampa, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Karen Kahle Mize of Novato, California; sister, Lorine Kahle Witte of Friend; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
