Name also shown as Katherina Jackmund Leyendecker in some records. She appears in the 1850 Federal Census for Gillespie County, Texas as "Catherine", along with husband John and children Margarethe and Christian. In 1860 she appears again as "Catherine" along with husband John and children Margarethe and Christian. Two more children, Catherine and Mary, have joined the family. In the 1870 Federal Census, youngest child Anna has been born, daughter Margarethe has died and the family is living in the area known as Pedernales Settlements in Gillespie County. By 1880, all the children except Anna have left home. Catherine is survived by her husband John and by children Christian, Mary and Anna, Margarethe and Catherine having predeceased their mother.

John and Catherine Leyendecker are included in the list of couples living in Gillespie County who had been married fifty or more years.
