Michael S. Barruzza, loving father and grandfather, of Levittown passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Sunday, April 12, 2009. He was 86.

Born in Bristol, he spent his last 55 years in Levittown.

He was a World War II Army veteran who survived the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a former employee of Eaton Corp. and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus.

Michael was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Church for more than 50 years.

He was a quiet, fun-loving man, who loved to dance, and was known as "Mike" to all who called him friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Maria Barruzza; his brother, Vito Barruzza; and his loving wife of many years, Susan J. (Vanore).

He will be sadly missed by his son, Michael Barruzza and his wife, Mary E., of Abington; his daughters, Mary Berault and her husband, William, of Swedesboro, N.J., and Faith Petkovic and her husband, Edward, of Wilmington, Del. He was the loving grandfather of Dana, Michael, Thomas, James, Christopher, Laura, Amanda, Andrew, Michael E. and Nicole; and great-grandfather of 12. He is also survived by one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Carmen Barruzza; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, followed by his funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Temple Lung Center, 3401 N. Broad St., Suite 748, Philadelphia, PA 19140. Galzerano Funeral Home of Bucks County, Bristol.
