WOODBRIDGE - Alice B. Politis, 84, of Woodbridge, died Saturday, April 4, in the hospice unit at Griffin Hospital, Derby. She was the widow of Michael Politis.

Mrs. Politis was born August 13, 1924, in Scranton, Pa., daughter of the late John and Ella (Browning) Morris. Formerly of Oxford and Seymour, she was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church in Seymour.

She was a member of the Olive Chapter of the Eastern Star, the VFW Auxiliary #4360 in Palm Springs, Fla., and was past president of David S. Miles Post #174, American Legion Auxiliary, in Oxford; past president the DAV of Seymour/Oxford and a past chapeau of Salon #60, New Haven County, 8 &40.

She also enjoyed volunteer teaching at the Oxford schools.

She leaves her children, Penny Politis Kovzel and her husband, Stephen, of Oxford, and James Politis and his wife, Victoria, of Wellington, Fla.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden 06450.
