Henry Thomas Dempster, 68, lifelong resident of Plymouth county and retired farmer, died unexpectedly Sunday at his farm home near LeMars. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mauer's funeral chapel, with Rev. Earl Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery.
Mr. Dempster was born April 23, 1894, in Stanton township. His marriage to Mary Faye Burrill took place Jan. 20, 1916, in Union township. He was a member of the Union township Presbyterian church and active in 4-H activities in the county for 22 years. Surviving are his wife Mary; two sons and a daughter, Lowell, Darrel and Mrs. Glenn (Thelma) Reeves, all of LeMars; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Reeves, Mrs. Gregg Featherston and Mrs. Charles Tucker, all of LeMars, Mrs. Elmer Featherston and Mrs. Kenneth Kiest, both of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Phoebe Hodgson Dempster, four brothers and two sisters.
