"Mrs. Flora T. Dickey, Tahoe Pioneer, Is Called By Death
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the cemetery at Lake Tahoe for Mrs. Flora Temple Rowland Dickey, 86, a pioneer of Lake Valley, who passed away at Los Angeles Sunday.
Mrs. Dickey was a daughter of Tom Rowlands, who kept an early-day resort and stopping place on the approximate site of the present-day Al Tahoe resort.
She and her husband, O. W. Dickey, lived in Lake Valley for many years and following his death about five years ago, Mrs. Dickey had moved to Los Angeles to reside with her son, Leo R. Dickey, an attorney.
The deceased was a native of East Corinth, Vermont and had lived in California seventy-seven years.
In addition to the son, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Fannie Barton, of Sacramento."
