Mary E.(Barckley)Dixon,formerly of S. Ringold St, Janesville, died Monday, Feb.28,2005, at Cedar View Health Center. She was born on July 19,,1909 inMapes,ND,the daughter of Louis and Estelle (Nelson) Barckley. The family moved to Janesville in 1920,and she graduated from Janesville High School in 1927. She went East to study cosmetology. She returned to eventually own Mary/Grace Beauty Shop on South Main St. in Janesville. Mary married Harold Dixon in 1938 and he precded her in death in August of 1987. Mary was very active in First Church of Christ Scientist,where she was a reader and taught Sunday School for many years. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 2 brothers,Alvin and Marvin Barckley and their wives,Viola and Gwen Barckley;and special cousins,Marty Dutcher and Jeanette Clark. She is survived by a special nephew,Jeffrey Barckley of Gilroy,CA;nephews,Kendall Barckley and Arden Barckley; nieces,Muri-el Falkenburg and Bonita Perkiser;a close cousin,Stella Burnham; many other relatives and friends. Mary was loved by all who knew her for her optimism andlove of God. A memorial services will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday, March 12,2005,at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home,1010 N Wright Rd.,Janesville, with Mr. Gerald Cox,Christian Science Reader,officiating. Private interment will be in Hillside Cemetery,Whitewater.
