Helen Elizabeth Barngrover, 88, passed away at Capital Medical Center on Thursday, June 1, 2006.

Helen was born on March 19, 1918 in Portland, Oregon to Walter and Mabel (Martin) Thompson. Helen's father died when she was ten. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Del.

Helen enjoyed her family and her cat, "Snowball". She was an active member of the United Churches and the Pairs and Spares group; she was also a member of the 1918 Club and the Garden Club.

She enjoyed the Cardio Rehab program at Capital Medical Center.

Her husband of 50 years, William L. Barngrover, preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by her children, Larry (Jan) Barngrover, Keith (Yvonne) Barngrover, and Veta (John) Repcik; and grandchildren, Shannon, Bret, Alyssa, and Kyle Barngrover, Britta (Kenett) Kelly, and Andrew (Marie) Repcik.

A Memorial Service will be held at the United Churches, 11th and Capitol Way, Olympia, on Friday, June 9, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or to Feline Friends. A private inurnment will be held at the Winona Pioneer Cemetery in Tualatin, Oregon. Arrangements by Mills & Mills Funeral Home, Tumwater.
