Descendant of the well-known Aiken family of Texas and Damron family of Tennessee. Son of James Herman Aiken and Louisa Catherine Damron. Born in Bell County Texas. The family story is that he left Texas after the Galveston flood due to family conflicts. He and Zella were married in Oklahoma. Their son, Johnnie Elmer Aiken was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Elmer died in Memphis of an infection. His wife Zella then returned to Birch Tree, MO. She subsequently remarried to "Bud" Nicholson. She is buried in Montier cemetery in Shannon County, MO.
