"Gladys E. Ames
Lifetime Bremerton area resident Gladys E. Ames, 74, 819 McKenzie Ave., died Friday at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ames was a member of Bremerton Unity Center and held several church posts. She also was a member of Rebekahs, Senior Citizen Singers, and was a past member of Odd Fellows.
She was born Feb. 28, 1907, in the community of Charleston, and on Aug. 5, 1924, married Spencer Ames. He died in 1965.
Survivors include a son, George Ames, of Sekiu; a daughter, Loraine Alkire, of Hoquiam; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Unity Center, with cremation to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Chapel."
Gladys Ames' ashes were inurned at Ivy Green cemetery.
