Delores F. (Moffett) Ambrose was born July 23, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of James Edward Moffett Sr. and Lola Neville (Knox) Moffett.

She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Gus Manroe, attending school in the Lenox and Clearfield areas. She met Jack Ambrose on a double date while roller skating in Lenox. The couple was united in marriage on February 16, 1954 in Nevada, Missouri. Four children were born to bless this marriage, Charles, Curt, Rodney and Carol. The couple moved into the telephone office in Gravity where Delores operated the switchboard and Jack worked on

the telephone lines. In 1956, they moved to a farm north of Gravity until the spring of 1960, when the family moved into Gravity where she resided at the time of her death.

Delores was a long-time member of the Gravity United Methodist Church where she was very active, holding several church offices and involved in the United Methodist Women (UMW). When the Gravity church closed the family transferred their membership to the Bedford United Methodist Church.

Family was always very important to Delores and being active in their lives was her main priority. This passion for her family only increased as her grandchildren were born. She truly enjoyed baking many treats for them.

Delores collected angels and porcelain dolls. She spent time doing craft work, embroidering and crocheting. She enjoyed reading and keeping her mind active working puzzles. She loved her pets, with her miniature schnauzer "Cassie" being very dear to her. Delores was also the Past President of the Gravity American Legion Auxiliary and Auxiliary.

Left to cherish Delores' memory are her four children, Charles Ambrose and
wife Helen of Gravity; Curt Ambrose and wife Tami of Williamsburg, Iowa; Rodney
Ambrose and wife Shannon of Brooks Alberta, Canada; and Carol Ambrose of Gravity;
a sister, Darlene Manroe of Gravity; two brothers, Bill Moffett and wife Shirley of
Littleton, Colorado; and Earl Moffett and wife Anna Mae of Thermal, California;
ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceding Delores in death were her parents, James and Lola Moffett; her
