Born in Sydney Mines, Eddie was the son of Ann Marie ‘Cookie' (Melnick) Power, and the late Eddie Power.
He was a member of St. Pius X parish, Sydney Mines. Eddie worked as a crane operator for Bantrel in Edmonton. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 721, Dartmouth.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Betty Jessome; son, Terry; daughters, Leeann and Katelynn Power and one grandson, Joshua. He is also survived by his mother, Ann Marie ‘Cookie' Power, Sydney Mines; his sister, Wendy (Ian) MacInnis; niece Victoria and nephew, Steven, Calgary, Alta.
Besides his father, Eddie was predeceased by his brother, Trevor.
Visitation for Eddie Power will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Sunday, April 5, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass celebrating his life will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Main Street, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Hughie MacNeil officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
