Her mother was for years a Matron in Charge at the Oswego College for Young Ladies. She and her sister attended school of Oswego later graduated from the Oswego College as did her sister. She, like her sister, always maintained her staunch support of the college. She started teaching schools in the Indian Territory, now Oklahoma,then for several terms at the federal Indian College at Muskogee. She returned to Oswego and took a position in the Condon Bank then after marriage helped raise his three children and operating the Hardware store. After hubby's death, February 1923, she took in a couple others to help, selling her interest in the store her hubby started in 1884, 1 Octoberr 1962, a couple years before her demise.
