Kinder-Funeral service for Coach John "Johnny" C. Buck, 74, of Kinder will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005 in First United Methodist Church of Kinder.
The Rev. Eddie Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be in Ardoin Funeral Home Thursday, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday, from 8 a.m. until time of service. Coach Buck was a life long resident of Kinder, His coaching Career lasted from 1953 until 2003 approximaley 50 years. He Coached DeQuincy High School, Kinder High School Opelousas Catholic, and Kinder Junior High School. He was a member of the La. High School Athletic Association and was Inducted into La. Football Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his son, Mr. John Carroll Buck, Jr. of Dallas, Tx.; daughter, Mrs. Kathy Cox and husband Danny of DeQuincy; brother, Mr. Stuart Buck wife Billie of Kinder; sister, Mrs. Rosalind Buck Everman of Tryon, N.C.; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Bess Lynne Peyton.
Donation may be made to the Johnny Buck Scholarship Fund at Hibernia Bank.
