Evelyn M. Becker entered into rest Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Country Meadows of Leader Heights. She was 78. Mrs. Becker was the wife of the late J. Philip Becker.
Years prior she had been a nursing assistant with York Hospital. Following retirement, she was a volunteer at York Hospital. Evelyn was a sports enthusiast.
Born in Zions View of York Co., on November 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Reed A. and Estella M. (Julius) Bixler.
She leaves a daughter, Stephanie L. Johnson and her husband, Steven of York; two grandchildren, Michael David Wills, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Suffolk, Va., and Jennifer Nichole Smeltzer and her husband, Clayton of Dallastown; and two great-grandchildren, Leland Wills and Callie Smeltzer. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clair A. Bixler.
Following cremation, burial will be private in St. Paul (Wolf's) Cemetery.
