Death of Old Riverman
Early yesterday morning occurred the death of Brown Kennedy, the veteran riverman. He was past 80 years of age, and had been ill some time.

He had been on the river practically his entire life either as pilot or captain.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Sahlander of Belleville, Ill., and Mrs. Laura Finn of Joplin, Mo. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Dunlap, and Mrs. Margaret Frost of Wheeling, and a brother Thomas Kennedy of Kenova, W.Va., also survive.

The funeral services were held this afternoon from the residence on Main street. Rev. Stanforth of the Belpre M. E. church conducted the services. Interment was at the Belpre cemetery.

Parkersburg, W. Va., Oct. 7. – Capt. Brown Lee Kennedy, aged 80, for nearly 50 years a pilot on the Ohio river and widely known from Pittsburg to Cincinnati, died yesterday at Belpre, O., opposite this city. He retired from the river about 10 years ago.
