Evered Marcus Ferrell was born 1860 in Marks Creek (Knightdale), Wake County, NC, the youngest of 8 known surviving children (all boys) born to farmers and millwright, Laban Ferrell and his wife, Ailey Meekins Barlow.
He was the paternal grandson of James Ferrell & Anna Dennis of Wake; and gr-grandson of Hezekiah Ferrell & Susannah Dennis of Wake Co.
On November 23, 1887, the 27-year old Evered married 17-year old Addie Pool of St. Mary's, daughter of Calvin Pool and his (3rd) wife, Elizabeth Margaret "Bettie" Jones.
The couple farmed in the Auburn-Garner area and would become parents to two known children: Ina Luta (1888) and Ethel Lois (1890).
Evered died young in 1890, about 6 months after the birth of his second child. He was only 29 years old. His wife never remarried and survived him by 52 years, passing in 1942 at age 71.
