McFarland, 70, of Joyce died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, in Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria.
He was a Winnfield native and a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was also retired from retail automotive parts sales. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosa McFarland; five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Emma McFarland of Joyce; four daughters, Rosanne Purser of Winnsboro, Laurene McFarland of Pineville, Lisa Kinney of Bossier City and Barbie Cannon of Shreveport; stepmother, Ester McFarland Grice of Winnfield; five brothers, Bobby McFarland of Longview, Wash., Lester Wheeler of Ft. Worth, Texas, Charles McFarland and Buddy McFarland, both of Winnfield and Pete McFarland of Bentley; four sisters, Cleo Cavanaugh of Tallulah, Nancy Gordon of Shreveport, Myra Johnson of Chatham and Thelma Alderson of Bossier City; and 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Shuler, Loran Shuler, John Rouse, Christopher Bordelon, Jack McFarland and Lee Gorham.
Friends may call from 4:30-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
