George Andrew "Pete" Adams, Jr.

George Andrew "Pete" Adams, Jr. was born in Bryan, Texas, on January 26, 1921, and died December 18, 1988. A lifetime resident of Bryan, he graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and Texas A&M University.

Mr. Adams was baptized into our church 58 years ago and is one of the most beloved members, serving most recently as a deacon, choir member, soloist, Windows Ministry visitor and member of the Business Men's Bible Class. Throughout his life, he served the church in many capacities including that of Sunday School teacher and member of many committees.

A well-known rancher and businessman, Mr. Adams was a director of the Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Association. During World War II he served in the U.S Marine Corps as an artillery Lieutenant and then Captain in the campaigns at Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima.
