Jacob Brausen Rites Held Monday in Pierz

A solemn requiem high mass was read Monday at 10:30 a.m. for Jacob Brausen, age 78, of Genola, who died November 10th in St. Gabriel's hospital from pneumonia. Rev. Robert Voigt officiated with Rev. Richard Leisen and Rev. Thompsen, as deacon and subdeacon. Interment was in St. Michael's cemetery in Buckman.

Mr. Brausen was born in Buckman March 10, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brausen. He married Francis Wheeling and they had six children.

He is survived by five sons: Math, and Henry, Pierz; Peter, Blue Earth; Reinhard, Hillman; Ted, Portland, Ore.; and one daughter, Mrs. Weiss (Alma), St. Paul. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Pete Meyer, Alfred Vogtlin, Nick Sahr, Reine Brausen, Leo Perleberg, and Ardell Waytashek.
