21-year old Marine Corps Second Lieutenant R. E. Roth was one of six naval aviators, of one flight, killed when his F9F Panther jet slammed into a fog-covered mountain near Airfield K-3 (Pohang), South Korea.

2nd Lt. Roth was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank L. Roth, Lockridge, Iowa.
