Floyd Jordan was born in Pennsylvania the son of John Jordan and Martha Hupp. A painter and miner John moved his family often and Floyd grew up in Penn, Ohio and West Virginia. In his younger years he performed with a traveling band and it was during this time frame that he met his first wife, Agnes McCray. To this marriage two sons were born. Wilford and Donald. The marriage did not work out. He met Esther in Kanorado Kansas. She moved to Utah to work on Hill Airforce base. He followed her there and they were married in Elko Nev. in 1945. To this union 4 children were born, Mary Louise(Clint Dunn Dayton Idaho), David Lee (Cindy Fairbanks Alaska), Randy Allen, and Debra Jo(Larry Ward) of Oak Harbor Washington.
Floyd and Esther moved to Kansas, where Floyd had a radio show but gave up the life as an entertainer as it required too much time traveling and he started a roofing business. He later moved to Salt Lake City Utah and then to Star Valley Wyo. When their first grandchild was born they traveled to Whidbey Island Wash to see their first grandchild. They like it there and moved once again. This time the move to Whidbey Island was their last move. There he continued his roofing business till heart problems forced his retirement. He died of heart failure Dec 14 at Whidbey General Hospital.
