Carrie Lou Howard Batson, 99, of 1037 East Perry Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003.
Widow of Edgar H. Batson, she was born in Greenville County, the daughter of the late Wilson R. Howard and Idumea Tinsley Howard Matthews.
Mrs. Batson was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Leawood Baptist Church and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class of the church.
Surviving are her special friends and caregivers, Sam and Dot Huff, of Travelers Rest, and their daughter and son-in-law, Shay and Henry Harris Jr., of Washington, Ga.; her sister-in-law, Dora Collins, of Greenville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation: 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Leawood Baptist Church.
Funeral services: Noon Saturday at the church, with burial at Graceland Cemetery, West.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to Leawood Baptist Church, 401 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609.
