Mamie "Nannie" Ellis of Bay City passed away March 24, 2008 at the age of 94.
She was born September 13, 1913 in Nacogdoches to the late Levi and Nancy Summers Henderson.
She is survived by: son Jack and wife Tonya Ellis of Bay City; daughters, Betty and husband Jim Yarborough of Vanderbilt, Texas, Ida and husband Ray Curnutte of Onalaska, Texas and Kathy and husband Edwin Anderle of Point Comfort, Texas; honorary son, John Tweedle of Bay City; 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 36 great-great grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband E. A. "Pawpaw" Ellis; daughters Mary Medlin and Lenora Janak and grandson Daniel Ellis.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Green officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Best, Jonathan Medlin, Dennis Ellis, C. J. Howton, Jason Burrier, Rick Janak and Patrick Anderle. All remaining grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
