He was born November 6, 1918 in Corning, the son of Orvis and Emily Calkins Dillon. He married Estella L. Garnett March 11, 1975 in Gibson. She survives.

He was an oiler at Corning Glass Works retiring in 1979. He was a member of the West Caton Baptist Church and Caton Grange.

Surviving are his wife and three daughters, Karen Joy of Bath, Mrs. Roy (Sandy) Ginnan of Caton and Arlene Blount of Big Flats, one son Edward of Campbell, four step children, Estella Ross of Pine City, Joyce Ramsey of Beaver Dams, Susan Westbury of Colonial Heights, Va and Linda Conklin of Pheonix, Ariz., one sister Violet Force of Corning; a brother Richard Dillon of Ennon, Ohio, several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours at the Carpenter Funeral Home are today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be there Wednesday at 11 a.m, the Rev Lonnie C. DeWalt officiating. Burial will be in the Coopers Plains Cemetery.
