Charlene Jane Sims, 74, of 209 East Kendall Street LaFontaine, Indiana, died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 8:35pm at Millers Merry Manor West in Wabash. She was born on August 26, 1929 in Marion to Charles Denigan and Phyllis "Pat" (Kelley) Liddick. She married John W. Sims on September 30, 1966 in Jonesboro, Indiana.
She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Sims of LaFontaine; three daughters, Mary (Kevin) Sparling of Wabash, Phyllis Earhart of Marion, and Janie Hogan of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, Steven Earhart of LaFontaine and Bill Waggoner of Marion; step-brother, David (Susan) Liddick of Marion; step-sister, Ethel Mae Bovie of Texas; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-brother, George Liddick, and a grandson, Jimmy Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 10:00am. Pastor Doug Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8, Sunday, June 27 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel and one hour prior to services Monday, June 28 at the church. Preferred memorials are Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.
