WALTHAM Mary L. (Chiasson) Allen, of Waltham, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at Meadow Green Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham. She was 86. Born Nov. 19, 1922, in Waltham, daughter of the late Louis and Lucy (Chiasson) LeBlanc, Mrs. Allen was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Allen was employed as an assembler at the Standard Thompson Company of Waltham for more than 20 years. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Florence M. Fisher of Waltham, Michael Allen and his wife, Donna, of Waltham, Stephen L. Allen and his wife, Dolores, of Maynard, and Robert J. Allen and his companion, Jeannette, of Waltham; and her brother, David P. Chiasson, of Acton. In addition, she is survived by 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late John Allen Sr., mother of the late John Allen Jr., and was predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham (www.brascofuneralhome.com),Thursday, March 19, at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian burial in celebration of Mary's life at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall St., Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home are today, 4 to 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
